"SLUPLift" Airs on CBS2 News
Dr. Slupchynskyj's "SLUPLift"
will air on CBS2 News on Friday,
May 25th at 5pm. The shows
segment is based on healthy
living and includes in-depth
information on this procedure.
Select patients who are trying
to improve the jowl and neck
area are good candidates for
this procedure. However, a
detailed consultation with Dr.
Slupchynskyj will determine the
proper procedure for each
individual patient. Below
are some FAQs and before and
after photo of the
SLUPLift.
Patient below received a
SLUPLift and Upper and Lower
Blepharoplasty.
What are the advantages of the
"SLUPLift"?
The muscle under the skin is
sutured so it will not loosen.
The result is a longer lasting
result and more natural
appearance.
Why not do a "featherlift"
instead?
Traditional "featherlift"
procedures risks threads
becoming dislodged during sleep.
Barbs holding the skin dissolve
in a short period of time and
the threads grasp fat
NOT
muscle. Excess skin also tends
to "bunch". This is a
short-term unnatural result.
When will I see the results and
how long will it last?
Results are seen instantly and
lasts approximately 5-10 years.
How long is the procedure and
what is the recovery?
The procedure takes
approximately 1 hour.
Patients can typically return to
work the following day.
Sutures are removed the 4th day
following surgery. Total
recovery time is 5 days.
How much does the SLUPLift cost:
$6,000 - $8,000

FDA Approves Perlane
Medicis announced the FDA
approval of Perlane, suggesting
it offers enhanced volume and
lifting power in deeper layers
of the skin. Additionally, The
Wall Street Journal posted an
article that quoted Dr. Jeffrey
S. Dover, a Perlane investigator
from Boston. Dr. Dover stated:
"Perlane is identical to
Restylane, except the particles
are bigger." He went on to
say "The amount of material
needed [Perlane] was slightly
less than with Restylane, but
the difference wasn't
statistically significant.
Perlane persisted at least 6
months in 2/3 of patients, about
the same as Restylane."
Some FAQs from the articles:
a. Perlane is the same
"old" Restylane formulation
b. The only change from
Restylane is a larger granular
size
c. No differences in HA
concentration, amount of cross
linking, or degree of
cross-linking
d. No differences were
observed in duration of effect
between Restylane and Perlane
e. The differences in the
amount of Perlane needed for
correction was not statistically
significant from Restylane
f. Juvéderm™ offers the
first smooth consistency gel
that flows easily into the skin
and creates a smooth, natural
look and feel
